Gerry Anderson and my childhood

Right from the beginning I was entranced by Gerry Anderson's puppetry, starting with this

Four Feather falls, magical feathers and cranky old granpaws yeehawww, but that was just the start, pretty soon came the first gadget show

but that was

That show was awesome but still earthbound, next came the space themed Fireball XL5

When you've been to space where do you go next? How about underwater (o I did love this show)

Then, o then came the all time awesomely amazing Thunderbirds, such gadgetry such storyline and the pink goodness of FAB 1

However, if we're gonna talk influence how about Captain Scarlet, and his nemesis Captain Black...

Mr Anderson went on to do some more stuff, but by then I'd moved on and while I still loved them, I didn't have to watch them like I had to watch his previous stuff. Gerry was the man who powered my imagination so strongly during my childhood, for which I will be forever grateful :)

My Musical History, an aside

I just realised that there's an awful lot of music in my history, and the freaky thing is how much I remember, right down to the labels on the records and their different colours

My Musical History Pt 7

A couple of early gems from my mother's collection, both offshoots from The Shadows

My Musical History Pt 6

My Auntie Janet would let me listen to her records, where I discovered Rock n Roll

My Musical History Pt 5

I did mention musicals didn't I?

Yes, that is the Franco Nero in the first clip[ and OMG Lee Marvin!!

My Musical History Pt 4

There was also another side to my mum's taste, which I also inherited, a love of mawkish deep voiced country (blush)

My Musical History Pt 3

My Mum must have a wicked sense of humour, these are from her collection and got played a LOT when i were a nipper

Lunch in the city

So at lunchtime i do like to sit on the waterfront, watching people and watching boats

My Musical History Pt 2

Moving on, we get to my early years, Mum loved musicals and pop, Dad was a Musicals and Gilbert & Sullivan man, but both had an ear for a tune. I Just Loved This:

And this was my favourite G&S

So fast so witty so lyrically clever :)
